An Ecological Restoration Master Plan for the Black River With funding from U.S. EPA's Great Lakes National Program Office

A plan has been developed by River stakeholders that promises to improve the health and diversity of resident fish communities, preserve and restore aquatic, riparian and adjacent terrestrial habitats of the lower Black River in a manner that is consistent with the City of Lorain's vision for the area, including social and cultural interaction, recreational access and use, and development and public infrastructure. Other restoration master plans have been developed in other Great Lakes AOCs (St. Louis Bay/River in Minnesota/Wisconsin and Muskegon Lake in Michigan) but this is the first one written for an Ohio AOC.
